Originally built in 1870 as a summer house for a Georgian family, this beautiful property sits on a gentle hill that leads to a private beach and dock. It was purchased in the 1950’s by a niece of General Custer – who eventually established the Custer Institute in nearby Southold. During that time, the house was winterized in order to enjoy it year round. It was subsequently owned by the Mayor of Greenport. In 1973 Gordon and Leueen Miller purchased the house as a summer residence for their family. In 2001 they established the only waterfront B&B on the North Fork. The house has been tastefully decorated and carefully maintained. The Millers are proud to share their piece of paradise with their guests.
The English flower and herb gardens provide the perfect touch of beauty and tranquility to this seaside experience. Doze in the shade of tress over one hundred years old. Or bask in the sun on a chaise longue on the beach. Wherever you are on the grounds, you’ll enjoy breathtaking water views.
